Partial Hospitalization Program For Depression

Why Choose A Php

Partial Hospitalization Program

PHP offers an alternative to residential care, for those that cannot commit to a residential program but still need structure and intense therapy to overcome the underlying issues guiding the mental disorder or addiction. This program is best suited to clients that require a higher level of care than a traditional outpatient program. A PHP offers a combination of medical monitoring and treatment service during the day but allows clients to return to the comfort of their own homes or our tranquil resident housing for the night.

For many of our clients, PHP is also used as a step-down treatment once they have completed an inpatient program. Taking this step ensures your transition into the rigors of daily life gradually, with the necessary support to lower the risk for relapse or other complications that can occur because of leaving treatment before you are ready. PHP also offers significant benefits to those that dont require full 24-hour supervision, yet still require guidance and support as they navigate the recovery process.

Phps Help Prevent Relapse

Relapses are a difficult part of recovery. They can be the result of emotional pain or stress, as well as peer pressure from drugs themselves this is called escapism through use. This occurs when people have gone back to their old ways of using or drinking after staying sober for an extended period of time.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that the rate of relapse nationally falls somewhere between 40 and 60%. This is similar to rates with other chronic diseases, like hypertension , asthma, or type 1 diabetes.

The symptoms of relapse are often similar to those who experience alcohol and drug dependence. In fact, its estimated that up to 50% or more will lapse back into their old ways upon release from rehab programs due in part because these behaviors have become comfortable over time through continued use.

At Miracles Recovery Center, were committed, through innovation and commitment, to the success of those who suffer from addiction. We work with people by providing increased care, to help reduce the high risk of relapse, which is common at the beginning of addiction recovery.

Patients in addiction recovery must remain in a treatment program long enough to learn how they can manage their drug cravings and address possible triggers from everyday life. Treatment also helps them cope with the stresses of living, which are common for people going through such difficult times.

What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

Partial hospitalization programs are most effective when used as a step-down from residential treatment. This allows a recovering individual to slowly return to everyday life and supports recovery as an ongoing process.

A major benefit of starting with an inpatient addiction treatment program is that these programs remove the individual from their usual environment and give them a fresh start. The best residential treatment plans are tailored to the individual and may be implemented in a long-term treatment program that takes time to ensure a full recovery.

What Happens In A Partial Hospitalization Program

The PHP will be instrumental in treating your loved ones mental health disorder and substance use disorder. When your loved one first arrives at the facility, the staff will take an assessment that will help them determine the issues that are bothering your loved one. They will be able to diagnose the mental health condition, prescribe medications for his conditions, and schedule sessions that he will be required to attend.

Behavioral therapy has been shown to be highly effective for treating substance use disorders and mental health disorders. In the program, your loved one may be required to participate in several types of behavioral therapies. For example, your loved ones therapist may use behavioral therapy to identify negative thoughts that lead your loved one to use substances. He will also learn how to change his negative emotions by using new coping strategies.

Who Isnt Right For Partial Hospitalization

Partial hospitalization may not be for your loved one. For example, although your loved one may have a moderate substance use disorder, he may live in an environment that has several triggers that cause him to use his substance of choice. If your loved one lives in an area such as this, partial hospitalization isnt a good option for him. The other residents at this home may not be doing anything to get help for their addictions, so this wouldnt be a good place for your loved one to be. Therefore, a residential program would be better for him.
